What is a coil?

E-cig coils are one of the most important components in an e-cigarette. Coils are responsible for heating up the e-liquid in your e-cig and turning it into vapour.

In strict terms, a vape coil is the wire wrapped in a spiral shape around your e-cig wicking material. Then it’s fitted in place in its e-cig atomizer head, the coil connecting the positive part of your battery to the negative. When you use your e-cig, the wick is usually saturated in e-liquid, the battery is turned on and heats up the coil, and the coil vapourises the e-liquid in the wick into vapour. The vapour then travels up trough your clearomizer or tank chimney, and you have vapour to inhale – just like that.

Keep your e-cigarette performing at its best with our selection of replacement vape coils. Your coil is what ensures your e-cigarette is producing top quality flavour and vapour production, allowing you to get the most out of your favourite liquids! We stock a wide selection of single and multi-pack e-cig coils, all at great value online prices.

1. Kanthal – Kanthal A1 is resistance wire composed of 20.5% Chromium, 5.8% Aluminum and an Iron balance. Kanthal is stronger than Nichrome so a bit easier to work with in gauges below 38. Also, Kanthal has a thicker oxide layer compared to Nichrome-80, so it is less likely to cause hot-spots when dry-firing a coil.

2. Nichrome 80 – Nichrome 80 series resistance wire is composed of 20% Chromium and ~80% Nickel. This wire is extremely low resistance. The thinner gauges of this wire are often used for the “outside” wire on many types of Clapton coils. Nichrome 80 also heats and colors extremely well often making it a favorite for photographers.

3. Nichrome  90 – Nichrome 90 will heat up noticeably faster than Kanthal wire and is great for cloud chasing and those going for flavor. The ohms per foot are just a little bit higher compared to Stainless steel wire.

4. Stainless Steel – The taste from stainless steel is one of the most crisp and clean out of any wire. It is not recommended to be used in wattage mode unless the resistance in ohms can be locked on the device. Mechanical mod users can use this wire,  knowledge of ohm’s law, and proper safety for sub ohm devices should be well understood. The resistance of this wire is extremely low. This product is not for beginners. This product was intend for advanced users only.
